Rain Part Two

The after effects of rain are just as compelling as the rain itself. The rainbow, the soaked ground, and the smell. The mountains look glorious after a good rain especially in the summer because the sage brush turns a bright green enhanced by the black bark, the green grass is enhanced by the brown dirt, the sun comes out golden against the black clouds and a rainbow appears against the hills. The smell is breathtaking and thick with a mix of wet earth and sagebrush. It lets you know that life is worth living, if just for this and that God knows about the little things in life and loves them.

Rain Part One

This morning it was pouring rain. I went on my usual walk and got soaked to the point where there were little puddles in my shoes; it was miserable conditions to go walking in. But I love the rain. I love letting it sink into my hair and leave droplets on my face. Do you ever notice how we all like to dance in the rain? I think it’s the romantic and mystical charm that draws us to doing it, it’s almost like an acceptance of nature and human beings joined together for a brief moment in time where they harmonize in perfection.
